About the Council
Trade relations between Uzbekistan and the United States have entered a transformative new phase. The Council is dedicated to strengthening and advancing the business ties between our two nations.
The American-Uzbek Business and Investment Council traces its origins to the historic visit of Uzbekistan’s President, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, to Washington, D.C., from November 4–6, 2025, during the C5+1 Summit.
During the summit, delegations from both countries reached an agreement to formally establish the Council as a platform for bilateral economic cooperation.
Shortly thereafter, on November 12, 2025, President Mirziyoyev signed a decree officially mandating the creation of the Council.

Our primary focus areas include:
Bilateral Investment Coordination. We facilitate the development, negotiation, and oversight of major bilateral investment projects, ensuring their successful implementation.
Investment Advisory. We identify and curate investment project proposals for submission to the Government of Uzbekistan.
Trade Policy Advocacy. We engage in negotiations aimed at reducing mutual tariff rates to foster a more favorable trade environment.
Talent Mobility. We support the integration of Uzbek IT professionals into the American technology sector, promoting cross-border expertise and innovation.
Tourism Promotion. We position Uzbekistan as a premier destination for American travelers by showcasing its rich cultural heritage.
